Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched three new Vande Bharat trains on Saturday, August 31.
These trains are set to enhance travel speed and comfort across Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
New Vande Bharat Train Routes:
1. Meerut City-Lucknow: This train will reduce travel time by approximately 1 hour compared to the fastest current option.
2. Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil: This route will save over 2 hours of travel time.
3. Madurai-Bengaluru: This service will cut travel time by about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Key Stations and Stoppages:
1. Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Train: This train will travel 726 km through Tamil Nadu, connecting 12 districts, including Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai. It will facilitate travel to major pilgrimage sites such as the Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai and the Kumari Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari.
2. Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express: This service connects Madurai in Tamil Nadu with Bengaluru in Karnataka, aiding businessmen, students, and professionals commuting between these cities.
3. Meerut City-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express: This train will boost religious tourism by providing faster access to pilgrimage sites including Digambar Jain Temple, Mansa Devi Mandir, Surajkund Temple, and Augharnath Temple.
